How to record Hands on a Skeleton FBX (Full Body) or Hand Only FBX in Hand Engine (DOC-5044)

This document will take you through the steps of recording a Full Body FBX or Hand Only FBX in Hand Engine 1.3.0 and higher.

Requirements

Express Calibration

  1. In Hand Engine 1.3.0 or higher navigate to Settings>Preferences

  2. Choose to record FBX as Hands or Body and hit submit.

     


    'Hands' outputs (Separate Left and Right FBX)


    'Body' outputs (Single FBX)

     

  3. Connect your gloves and record as normal. Refer to the Hand Engine User Guide (DOC-5046) for recording functionality. Refer to our various documentation on setting up remote trigger recording from an external source How to Setup a Trigger for Remote Recording (DOC-5033) or how to listen to timecode from OptiTrack Motive or Vicon Blade/Shogun:

  4. Your output will be saved in the recording location you have set in Settings>Preferences and this directory can be opened from within Hand Engine by navigating to Settings>Browse Recordings:
