This document will take you through the steps of updating your glove firmware, and your dongle firmware using the new StretchSense Launcher.

Requirements

  • StretchSense Launcher Installed: Login to your account page on stretchsense.com, go to “My Account”, and navigate to the “Software Downloads” section. Download and run the EXE.
  • MoCap Pro Glove Dongle Firmware Updates (Launcher Bundle): Login to your account page on stretchsense.com, go to “My Account”, and navigate to the “Software Downloads” section. Download the firmware file. This “SSFW” file is your target firmware for the gloves and USB dongles and will be used later.
  • MoCap Pro Glove and Dongle connected
  • The glove is charged up. Please do not attempt with a battery level <30%.

Launch the StretchSense Launcher

  1. Download and Install the StretchSense Launcher from your account
  2. Launch the StretchSense Launcher.
  3. In the bottom-left section of the Launcher, select the “Devices” button.

  4. Connect your Dongle to your PC via a USB 3.0 port. You should see your Device populate (see image below):

Please avoid using a USB hub when performing firmware updates.

    CAUTION:

Please perform the update task with only one dongle and glove connected to your PC at a time.

Having more than one dongle connected and performing a firmware update using the StretchSense launcher can result in a failed update.

    1. Power on your MoCap Pro Glove. If it has been previously paired to this dongle, you will see the glove information populate below the Dongle.
    2. At the top of the Launcher, click on the dropdown menu, and select “Set Target Firmware”

    3. A File Explorer window will automatically open. Navigate to the SSFW file mentioned in the “Requirements” section above. Select the file.

Note: Dongle and Glove icon colors

The colour of the icons for your dongle and glove changes depending on the firmware version selected for the Target Firmware Version.

Red Icons: The firmware currently on the dongle and/or glove is a lower version than the Target Firmware selected:

Green Icons: The firmware currently on the dongle and/or glove is matching the Target Firmware selected:

Yellow Icons: The firmware currently on the dongle and/or glove is a higher version than the Target Firmware selected:

    4. Select “Update Devices”. The LED indicator on your dongle will start flashing red. Please wait a few minutes. You will notice your PC disconnecting and reconnecting a device multiple times.

The process is complete when you can see the battery level of the glove and you have green glove and dongle icons as per the below image:

Note: Please only update one glove & dongle at a time. Make sure that you only have one dongle plugged in and its associated glove turned on and connected

    Please note
, if you have legacy firmware and want to install to the latest the following message may appear:

Please, put the dongle in bootloader mode first by following the instructions and then updating to the latest firmware. From there you can connect your gloves and run through the update again using the dropdown and force update glove option (see image below):
